Kings Plant Barn, an established garden centre and ecommerce retailer with a recognised presence in Auckland for 30 years, was faced with a critical issue. Their existing enterprise platform, Magento, presented many challenges, particularly with inventory management, the website crashing, and difficulty managing and scaling integrations. Consequently, this hampered their ability to expand their business footprint in the e-commerce domain.

This compelling solution meant Kings Plan Barn would have a single management interface for all product and customer data; while OnTempo's real-time integration with Cody allowed for seamless operations with the introduction of the click and collect service, all while ensuring consistent availability of their website.

The Blackpepper design team completed a site redesign, focused on ensuring the Kings customer could easily search and select their desired products, while simultaneously portraying the significant USPs of Kings. The development team behind Cody has built technology that ensures 100% uptime, even on the busiest days. Our solution not only addressed Kings' sales woes, but also streamlined their internal management procedures.

The impact of the new website was immediate and transformative. Within the first month of launch, Kings saw a daily average conversion rate increase of over 878%, with a staggering 2363% increase in revenue. Even in the challenging times of the COVID-19 lockdown, the new platform became a lifeline for the business, enabling nearly 100% of all revenue to be processed through the site for contactless delivery or Click & Collect during level 3 restrictions.
